What is the LOTERIE DU CŒUR?
The Loterie du Coeur is run by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (the « Foundation »). Through a partnership with Bonneville Homes, Jean Coutu Group, RBC Royal Bank, Archambault and Quebecor Media, the Loterie du Cœur helps to continue funding research on the cardiovascular health of Canadians. Tickets will be on sale from Tuesday February 1st, 2012 until Friday, August 3, 2012 on the website loterieducoeur.ca and the Foundation’s offices in the Province of Québec. -
What are this year’s prizes?
The Grand Prize, worth $500,000, includes:
- A Natur-E house * from Bonneville Homes valued at $400,000 including taxes
- $100,000 in cash
The remaining 1 005 secondary prizes are as follows:
- 5 prizes in the amount of $10,000
- 1,000 gift-cards of $100 each
* The winner may receive the house from Bonneville Homes in the municipality of his/her choice in the Province of Québec only (with the exception of the Îles-de-la-Madeleine region or any other region where the house cannot be transported) in accordance with the following conditions:
- the lot chosen must have public and municipal services;
- the Grand Prize includes the delivery and installation of the house within a 600 km radius of Bonneville Homes’ facilities, located in Beloeil. Beyond that 600 km radius, the cost of delivery of the house will be at the winner’s expenses ($100/additional km) and the winner will have to make the necessary arrangements with Bonneville Homes. If suppliers must be hired to carry out the delivery or installation of the house, they must be approved in advance by Bonneville Homes;
- the winner accepts Bonneville Homes’ inclusions and exclusions as set out in Appendix A of Rules and regulations;
- in the event that the winner is a resident of Îles-de-la-Madeleine or any other region where the house cannot be transported, he/she will have to have the house installed elsewhere in the Province of Québec or accept the sum of $250,000.

How much does a ticket cost?
Each ticket costs $10. -
How many tickets are up for sale?
200,000 tickets, numbered from 100 001 to 300 000 will be up for sale. -
How will the proceeds from the lottery be used?
The money raised through this lottery will be used to support research on heart disease and stroke to help save the lives of thousands of people suffering from cardiovascular disease each year. Without the support of several thousand donors, the fight against cardiovascular disease is impossible. Every donation is unique. Each one helps us in our quest for solutions. -
How can I buy tickets?
Tickets are available online at loterieducoeur.ca, at Foundation’s offices in the Province of Québec and Bonneville Homes' offices.

Can I buy my ticket online?
Yes, on Loterie du Cœur’s official website at loterieducoeur.ca. -
What are my chances of winning?
The probability of winning can be calculated by dividing the number of prizes to be won by the number of tickets sold. In this case, the chances of winning are 1,006 in 200,000, which is one chance in approximately 198. The probability of winning the Grand Prize is 1 in 200,000. -
Will I get a tax receipt when I purchase a ticket?
No, no tax receipt can be issued for the purchase of lottery tickets. -
If I win the Grand Prize, can I opt for a cash prize instead?
Yes, a cash prize may be chosen. The Grand Prize winner can choose to receive $250,000 in lieu of the Grand Prize which includes the house from Bonneville Homes and the cash award. Should the winner opt for the cash prize, the Foundation will issue a cheque in the amount of $250,000. -
How will the winners be notified?
Winners will be notified by telephone or registered mail. The Grand Prize winner and the winners of the cash prizes will be notified within seven (7) days of the date of the draw. The 1,000 other winners will be notified within sixty (60) days following the draw. Should the draw organizers be unable to reach winning ticket holders, the latter will have until December 31, 2012 to claim their prize. Should the winners fail to meet this deadline, they will be deemed to have renounced their prize. In the case that one or many prizes are not claimed, the Foundation will inform the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux to determine a procedure to follow. -
I lost my ticket or I never received it. Am I still eligible for the draw? Do I need my ticket to claim my prize?
Yes, you are still eligible for the draw. You do not need your ticket to claim your prize. The Grand Prize winner and the winners of prizes of $10,000 will be asked to sign a waiver that they must return within 30 days of reception. In all cases, prizes will only be awarded to the person whose name appears on the coupon or to the person they have designated, in writing, to this effect. -

How do I claim my prize?
Winners may claim their prize from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, 1434, Sainte-Catherine Street West, suite 500, Montreal (Québec) H3G 1R4, telephone: 1-800-567-8563.
The Grand Prize winner and the winners of prizes of $10,000 will be asked to sign a waiver that they must return within thirty (30) days of reception. In all cases, prizes will only be awarded to the person whose name appears on the draw ticket or to the person they have designated, in writing, to this effect.

What are the eligibility requirements for the Loterie du Cœur?
The lottery is open exclusively to residents of Québec, 18 years of age and older. Employees and members of the board of directors of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and Heart and Stroke Foundation of Québec are not eligible to enter this lottery. -
I have bought a ticket but have since changed my mind. Can I cancel my ticket and get a refund?
No, ticket sales are final and non refundable. -
What is the deadline for buying a ticket?
Ticket sales will end online on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. -
When will the draw take place?
The draw will take place on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at 8:00 a.m. in Bonneville Homes’ office, located in Beloeil, Québec. -
How will I know if I have won a prize?
Winners will be notified by telephone or registered mail. The Grand Prize winner and the winners of the cash prizes will be notified within seven (7) days of the date of the draw. Are the cash prizes tax exempt?
The Loterie du Cœur winnings are not taxable. This means that you do not have to pay federal or provincial income tax on the prizes won. However, earnings (interest and others) generated by your winnings are taxable. -
Can I give all or a portion of my winnings to the Foundation?
Yes! The Foundation is grateful for all the financial support it receives which enables it to continue to lead the charge in eliminating cardiovascular disease and strokes as well as their impacts. A tax receipt will be issued to the generous donor for the entire amount of the donation.
